Effects of Additives on Sonolytic Degradation of Azo Dye Molecules Found in Industrial Wastewater

The growing number of industries is a threat to our environment, as they expose the polluted water directly into natural sources. Various processes have been expanded evacuate these hazardous organic pollutants from water. Among them, advance oxidation process (AOP) very popular, method cost efficient and highly effective in similar field. In this ultrasound exercised for deterioration occasionally some additives are also added enhance degradation. article, author has reported degradation two azo dyes, named methyl orange (MO) congo red (CR), presence like, inorganic salts, charcoal, H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>, CCl<sub>4</sub>, tert-butyl alcohol (TBA), glucose sucrose. total experiment was conducted at room temperature power sonication machine fixed 40 kHz-120W. For both it found that charcoal most additive, which enhanced rate, mainly due its high adsorption capability. TBA be least enhancer MO, on contrary, pure CR showed lowest rate. effectiveness MO can shown 0.01g > 20 ml NaCl 100 μL CCl<sub>4</sub> 10 Na<sub>2</sub>SO<sub>4</sub> 400 H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> sucrose TBA, while combined CR, after 15 minutes sonicator.
